From a single plank, without a glue joint.
Suar is the wood of the rain tree, Samanea saman. The trunk grows so wide that a whole table top comes from a single plank, without a glue joint. Our slabs come from Indonesia, where our own team selects them at the source.
No two slabs are the same. Along the live edge the wood is light; towards the centre, dark streaks run through the grain. What it becomes is up to you: a loose top on a base of your choice, a complete dining, coffee or bar table, or a river table in the length you specify.

The slab
Solid Suar. You choose the rest.
You choose the base, the colour and the finish to go with it.
Finish
Delivered sanded. Finished where it stands.
Every slab reaches you sanded and untreated. If it picks up a scratch on the way, or if you want to work on it further, there is no lacquer layer to remove first. You finish the slab once it is in place. That way nobody does the work twice.
If the slab will see intensive use, treat it with lacquer or oil before it goes into use. We can supply lacquer and oil on request, together with our advice from years of experience.

- Size range
- Slabs up to 800 cm long. In the shop you choose a table top in ten lengths, from 200 to 400 cm. For a longer slab or a river table, you state the length.
- Finish
- Sanded and untreated, ready to be finished with the oil or lacquer of your choice.
- Table base
- Eight bases fit the slab: in root wood, suar wood or metal.
- Colour
- Metal bases in Jet Black, Smoked Brown or Precious Sand.
- Made to measure

What dealers ask us most.
Is every slab different?
Yes. Grain, colour and live edge differ from trunk to trunk. For a loose slab you see the size; if you would like a photo of the slab you will receive, ask in the chat.
Can suar crack?
Yes, it remains a piece of nature. A crack can appear during the process. It can be repaired with a wood filler that matches the wood. This applies to all the wood we use.
How is the wood dried?
We dry the wood back in our drying chambers in Indonesia to a quality that meets market standards, with a final inspection.
How do you prepare the slab for use?
Treat the slab with lacquer or oil before it goes into intensive use. It is then suitable for every purpose our customers use suar for. We can supply lacquer and oil on request, together with our advice.
Can I order a slab on its own?
Yes. Choose Table top only, or put together a complete table with a base and a colour. The base then appears as a separate line on your order.
Can I collect?
Yes, in Oldenzaal and in Venlo. Otherwise we agree the transport, its costs and the lead time with you after your order.
